Bleu has found his forever home! We are told that he and his adoptive Dad are “inseparable”! He made a full recovery after his surgery and will now live a long and healthy life. Thanks to Linda Cook, FOSOCAS President, for her support and to everyone who donated toward his surgery.

Little Bleu is just 5 months old and was surrendered to the Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter when his family could no longer care for him. Sadly, Bleu has Persistent Right Aortic Arch (PRAA), a congenital anomaly of the blood vessels of the heart that results in the constriction of the esophagus. He “can’t keep anything down” and does not gain weight properly or receive adequate nutrition. Bleu is undergoing surgery today, 6/5/23, at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls, NJ. Fortunately, once corrected, the prognosis is excellent and Bleu will live a normal canine life! As you can imagine, a surgery like this is very expensive and the Friends of Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter will cover all costs for this surgery. MONETARY DONATIONS ARE WELCOMED AND NEEDED! Donations can be made through the website or by check mailed to FOSOCAS, PO Box 1162, Manahawkin, NJ, 08050. Please keep our little Bleu in your thoughts and prayers as he undergoes surgery and is on his road to recovery! As always, thank you.

UPDATE: Our little Bleu came through a serious surgery very well! His prognosis is excellent! We anticipate that he will be discharged tomorrow, 6/8/23, to his foster home where he will remain for at least three weeks. Stay tuned for updates! It’s not too late to make a donation toward his surgery and care.

Bleu is an example of a true, medical foster where he is reported to be doing well. He must be kept calm and quiet and must be fed upright several times/day in order to assure proper nutrition for his recovery. He will be seen for follow up on June 20 at Garden State. Thank you to everyone who donated toward his surgery. You helped to save this little dog’s life.
