This is Trina.  She is 4-5 years old and was surrendered to the Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter in Manahawkin, NJ,  when she and a male dog in the home were not getting along.  It wasn’t until some time later that it was discovered that she had never been spayed, despite being told that she was. Could that have been the problem between the dogs?  Perhaps.  Trina is now spayed, microchipped and up to date on her shots.  She is in good health and weighs about 50 pounds.  She is a size Medium.  Trina has the sweetest personality and the softest fur.  She loves her walks and she may try to chase a squirrel or two.  She is a hound, after all, and would love to meet someone who “gets” hounds. Trina loves the volunteers and staff at the shelter but she really needs a home and a family of her own.  The shelter is no dog’s permanent address.  Trina would do best in a home with a fenced in yard to enjoy when she is not out with her person walking.  Otherwise, she will love to snuggle with you on the sofa or her own bed.  Cats would not be a good idea.  Another dog?  Possibly, as long as they meet first.  She is selective with her canine friends.  A home where she is treasured as your only pet would be ideal.  Please call the shelter at 609-978-0127 and make an appointment to meet her.  Her Friend, Kathy, at 973-886-1916, knows her very well and is happy to give you more information about her also.
