On Friday, May 26, 2017, some members of Friends attended a 7:00AM celebration at the Manahawkin Walmart store known as 1921. The celebration was the culmination of an intense 10 week renovation project of the store. As part of the celebration, the Walmart Foundation which is partially funded by contributions from Walmart employees gifted three local community groups to advance their work. We are delighted to tell you that Friends of Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter was the recipient of a $1000 grant to assist us in our Trap Neuter Return program (TNR).  Pictured with the store manager is one of our very dedicated volunteers, Linda Cook, who oversees the TNR program.  We send Big and Small  Paws of Hearts of thanks to all of the great employees of Walmart store 1921 in Manahawkin! If you work for an organization or corporation that provides grants for local nonprofits, please let our grant writer know by sending an email to grants@fosocas.org.
